The Molson Coors Brewing Company is a North American brewing company, formed in 2005 by the merger of Molson of Canada, and Coors of the United States. It is the world’s seventh largest brewer by volume. There have been a number of breweries in Alton since 1763. Coors Brewing Company (among the ten largest brewers in the world) had a brewery in Alton for fifty years, which produced Carling, Grolsch and Worthington. It closed in 2015 because it lost all of its work from Henieken
The Visit:
Well what can i say i had a tip of from a fellow explorer that this place was open so a few of us decided to take a trip to Alton to check it out. So we arrive and my god this place is huge, so so big!!! As we find our way in, which didn’t take long! We find ourselves surrounded by huge tanks and masses of pipe work all in pristine condition and when i say huge they are massive. There must be hundreds of them all round the building. So we made our way around finding that every door we opened took you in a different direction along another corridor the power was still on. It takes a while to get used to the light sensors which make a beeping noise as the lights come on. We eventually came to the offices and science labs which i have to say are pretty empty but there are a few little gems still inside This place is well worth a visit and it is amazing inside, there are builders there but hardly anything has been touched. I didn’t get many pictures of the tanks because i don’t have a wide angle lens. Visited with @UrbexCamo & @Tizmeister Thanks for looking 🙂
Hey man!
I live near Alton and have been toying with the idea of trying to get into the coors brewery for a year or so now but always put it off because it seems like there’s 24 hour security and a shit load of cameras. Did you guys have any run ins with security or was it pretty straight forward? That place looks insane!!!
Cheers, Cam
Yeah we had a run in with security towards the end but just run off. Have fun be careful
Just an update… working next to the site at the moment and security is still quite hot but there are ways in! New cameras up sice the last few times we got in but externally nothing has changed in years. There is also a big abandoned house belonging to the brewery to the left of the main gate, worth a look if you’re there.
cheers for the heads up on new cameras, is it 24/7 security ?
Yes the security is 24/7 there’s a brewery employee on the front desks by the gates who’s on the ball, also there is another guard always patrolling from a private security company (G4S) checking all doors and windows. New cameras round the back by the houses too. There are still ways in if your timing and luck is good though…..people are still going regularly.
