Burts Furnishing, Southampton

Burts furnishing, Portswood

I’ve been to this place a few times now and every time there’s less of a floor to walk on! With the floors literally falling apart it was a very dangerous explore.
Besides the rotten floor the place was a great place to look around, with old electric work tools and sewing machines in nearly every room. There was even a basement which was very dark so we didn’t get many photos, we also got on the roof which was a difficult climb but it was worth it as the view was incredible.
Unfortunately we couldn’t find any history as to why the place shut down but if you have any information please give us a message on our Facebook page 🙂

  1. The Waggoners Arms next door to Burt’s is now also boarded up and abandoned…

The lovely old Debenhams in the city centre building needs penetrating before the developers start to pull it down to make way for the 600 flats planned to replace it.

    • Yeah I’ve seen that, I’m amazed they haven’t pulled it all down now and built flats like they have where Sainsbury’s is.

Debenhams would be good to go round, just haven’t really had the time. But maybe I’ll go soon

    • Yeah I saw that, pretty awesome. It’s probably trashed there now. Let me know if you fancy going we could probably take a look
